Butterfly Farm and Gardens - A Butterfly Reserve with trails, a laboratory for crysali and pupas, more than 2000 plants and over 500 butterflies of the 25 species native to Guatemala.

Bird Watching - Nestled within the rainforest on our property are special locations chosen for the pleasures of the serious bird watcher. A list of sited birds on our property has now exceeded 250 species. At night, some of these locations offer our guests opportunities for magnificent glimpses of the universe beyond.

Hikes and Walks - It is 45 minutes up to San Jorge from the Hotel. See San Jorge de la Laguna above for directions. The hike from Santa Cruz to San Marcos is lovely at about two hours and 30 minutes. One can wander the Nature Reserve for two hours, at least. Volcanoes- One can hike Tolimán or Atitlán from either Santiago Atitlán
