| The Jaguar Inn, Tikal, was built in 1968, adjacent to the runway and the Tikal airport (in those days it was easier to fly in, than to brave the long, muddy road from Flores, and you could fly directly into Tikal). The hotel started with a restaurant and only two bungalows, and proved to be a hit because of its good food, atmosphere, and convenient location both to the ruins and to the airport terminal. | ||||||
