| The hotel is ideally located in the very heart of Brussels adjacent to the picturesque Grand Place, the focal point of the city for social events and festivals, including the renowned Flower Carpet in the summer. There are many restaurants and bars offering the chance to sample some of the 400 beers for which Brussels is famous. Belgian chocolate shops line the cobbled streets, as do shops selling tapestries and lace for which the area is famous. Brussels is a city of contrasts, from old to new; from traditional to quirky; from jazz to opera. It is worth exploring the diverse assortment of museums, which range from science to elevators to chicory! Similarly, there are many galleries displaying the works of famous artists and Hergé's comic strip characters. If you are interested in antiques then the nearby Sablon area is a must, or you may prefer a more informal visit to some of the flea markets, which punctuate the area. |
