High up on the 27th level is the magnificent Al Falak Ballroom.
The venue is a blaze of colour and splendor. Gold abounds in
the dazzling room, whose name means galaxy In the centre of
the high ceiling, the pièce de resistance is a stunning gold
dome, consisting of a staggering 20,000 separate sheets of gold
leaf. A sparkling glow is cast over proceedings by a spectacular
crystal chandelier. An impressive, but unobtrusive, state-of-the-art
sound system means that the ballroom is suitable for all different
kinds of function. The sound and lighting is controlled by the
latest in computer technology. Complementing it all is a beautiful
orange, yellow and cerise carpet, hand-made and woven in India
in a traditional Arabian pattern. Guests enter the circular
ballroom at the upper level, from where they can look down on
the dazzling spectacle below. Designed to host functions of
all sizes, the ballroom seats 220 people for dinner or up to
400 for cocktails. The installation of a wooden dance floor
transforms the room into a wonderful venue for a traditional
ball. For all its opulence and technology, Al Falak has a warm
and intimate atmosphere. There is also an outdoor terrace, on
which guests can enjoy the balmy winter evenings and the outstanding
views over and beyond Dubai.
